KAECE is committed
to serving and acting on behalf of the needs and rights of
Kentucky’s young children and their families. Realizing that
this takes the dedication of many individuals and groups,
KAECE would like to recognize the efforts of these people
through awards that are given annually. These awards are
presented at the Annual KAECE Conference.
The following is a list of the KAECE Awards:
KAECE Outstanding
Teacher Award - This award recognizes an
instructor of young children (preschool through primary) who
teaches in a school setting or an instructor teaching early
childhood education courses (at least 6 hours per semester)
in a post-secondary setting.
KAECE Child Care
Provider Award - This award recognizes a
caregiver of infants and young children in a childcare
setting.
KAECE Student
Scholarship - A $250.00 scholarship will be
awarded to an undergraduate early childhood or primary
teacher education student. The applicant receiving this
award will also receive a one-year student membership in
KAECE.
KAECE Outstanding
Administrator Award - This award recognizes an
administrator exemplifying outstanding leadership and
quality supervision of an early childhood program.
KAECE Family
Involvement Award - This award recognizes a
family member who demonstrates outstanding involvement in
the education and care of young children. The nominee serves
as a representative for families, promoting their needs
through unique and innovative methods.
KAECE
Corporate/Business Award - This award recognizes
a corporation or business that has demonstrated outstanding
involvement in the education and care of young children.
This company may serve young children and their families
directly or indirectly through corporate
sponsorships/community awareness.
KAECE
Legislative/Policy Award - This award recognizes
an individual who has enhanced the quality of life for
children through the promotion of legislation or public
policy that supports and protects young children.
KAECE Marian B.
Hamilton Award - The purpose of this award is to
provide financial assistance for KAECE chapters to create a
project or activity that will directly benefit young
children. A cash award of $100.00 will be awarded to the
KAECE chapter with the maximum number of points.
KAECE Early Childhood
Recognition Award (This Award is ONLY offered
occasionally) - This award recognizes an individual who has
promoted an awareness of critical issues affecting young
children and families. This award must be initiated by a
member of the KAECE Board of Directors.
